Artwork in the style of graffiti artist Banksy has appeared in Weymouth overnight.

It has caused a stir on social media as people have been posting pictures of the Bansky-esque style art work spotted around the town.

Peachy, another stencil artist, is the man behind it.

Peachy has confirmed to Greatest Hits Radio Dorset that it is him and says he does the art because it gives people a talking point.

"The pieces give enjoyment for most , they can take photos. Some see it as vandalism, which it is but if done in the correct context and place, it can look nice."

This appeared on the wall of Wilkinson's in Weymouth.

The image is of a boy holding flowers with a bird above carrying a facemask in his mouth, which Peachy describes as a future Covid piece.

It has the stencil of a blue bird which can be seen in a lot of his pictures found on his Instagram page.

On a wall on the Esplanade there is an image of a little boy building a sandcastle on the beach.

But a third, what Peachy calls 'the dog piece' a boy holding the lead of a balloon dog, was going to have a caption "Clean your mess up."

"I decided against it and Boy on the seafront is just a bit of fun.

"Seafronts are nice and busy this time of year, (they give) maximum exposure, plus banksy has just done a set in Yarmouth... ( it wasn't my intention to copy, I already had mine cut and ready haha ) he just got there 1st!"
