Firefighters from 3 counties tackle barn fire near Bridport

Crews from Devon and Somerset were also called to the scene.

Firefighters from Dorset, Devon and Somerset were called to tackle a barn fire near Bridport yesterday. (6 September)

The blaze broke out in a hay barn in Fishpond.

A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said:

"Crews from Charmouth, Lyme Regis and crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

"Crews used mainlines, hose reel jets, hay drags, water dams and light portable pumps to extinguish the fire.

"The farmer also assisted using his tractor to remove and spread out the hay allowing crews better access."

It's not yet clear how the fire started and there are no reports of any injuries.
