A woman's been robbed while using a cashpoint outside a Bournemouth supermarket.

The victim - in her 50s - was pushed against a wall and then to the ground by a man, before he ran away with her cash.

This happened outside the Tesco Express in Charminster Road at around 2.25pm yesterday (Thursday 23rd November).

She suffered minor injuries to her ankle, back and neck in the incident.

A 47-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody.

PC Jack Gibson, of Bournemouth police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this robbery and I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to please come forward to assist us with our enquiries.

“I am also keen to speak to a witness who it is reported was close-by when the incident occurred and chased the suspect upon seeing the robbery.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the vicinity around the time of the offence to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
