Boy approached by man in balaclava in Bournemouth

The 12 year old wasn't harmed, but police are calling it 'suspicious'

Police in Bournemouth are investigating what they're calling a suspicious incident, in which a boy was approached by a man.

A 12 year old was at the junction of Montgomery Avenue and South Kinson Drive at around 5.30pm on Thursday 9th November.

A man, who didn't say anything, got out of his car and tried to grab the boy by his shoulders.

He managed to run away from the scene.

The man was wearing all black clothing, with white lettering on his left leg, as well as a balaclava and black rubber gloves.

He was also carrying a baseball bat.

The car is described as dark blue or black, with yellow headlights and a roof rack.

PC Bethany Pharoah, of Bournemouth police, said:

“We are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the relevant time and witnessed any suspicious activity.

“I would also urge any motorists who were driving in the vicinity, or residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
