Broad daylight indecent exposure incident in Beaminster

The offender was sat in a van and called a victim over to him

Police in West Dorset are investigating an indecent exposure incident that happened in broad daylight in Beaminster.

The victim was walking near to Woodswater Lane at around 12.20pm on 16th August when a man driving a white van smiled at her.

He said something out of the window, and she went around to the driver's side window as she couldn't hear him.

When she got there, she noticed the man was indecently exposing himself and she ran away.

The offender's described as:

  • White
  • Aged in his 50s or 60s
  • Short
  • Stocky build with a large belly
  • Long ginger beard
  • Wearing a white polo shirt
  • Blue shorts or trousers

PC Dan White, of West Dorset police, said:

“This was understandably a terrifying incident for the victim and our enquiries are continuing to identify the offender.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area, or recognises the man from the description given, to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been approached in a similar way recently and may have information to assist my enquiries.”
