A car window's been smashed, after a man punched it with a knuckle duster, in Bournemouth.

The incident happened in Christchurch Road in Boscombe, at around 4.40pm last Sunday (10th March).

While in stationary traffic, the driver of a grey Hyundai Tucson got out and hit the rear passenger side window of a beige Fiat 500.

It's believed the victim and the suspect are known to each other.

A 19 year old man from Bournemouth has since been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, driving offences, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He's been released on bail while enquiries continue.

PC Lizzie Christie, of Bournemouth police, said:

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, as well as any residents or business owners with doorbell or CCTV cameras who may have captured footage of the incident.

“I would also urge motorists with dashcams fitted to their vehicles who were driving along Christchurch Road at the time of the incident to please review their footage to see if they have recorded anything that may assist our investigation.”
