Officers are issuing CCTV images of two people they would like to identify following a theft from a shop in Wareham.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Friday 4 March at One Stop in North Street.

A woman entered the shop and asked a shop worker for help at another end of the store.

As the shop worker was helping the woman, it is reported that a man entered the store and stole a bag from behind the counter containing a large quantity of cigarettes with a total value of around £2,000.

Officers attended and carried out enquiries in the area to find the man, but he was not located.

Police Constable Stuart Wilson, of Purbeck police, said: “As part of my investigation I have obtained CCTV images of two people I would like to identify.

“I am appealing for anyone who recognises them to please contact Dorset Police.”
