School Children in Dorchester have been celebrating the effort of the English squad at the Euro 2020 final last night.

Prince of Wales School Dorchester celebrated the immense effort against Italy by allowing children to come in to school for 11am and greeting them with a bacon butty.

Olive Evans is a pupil in Year 3. She said:

"It was a bit disappointing but we're proud of England and we're very proud that they went to the finals."

Many of the children stayed up to watch the match until the end.

Gracie Heath, also in Year 3, was one of them. She told Greatest Hits Radio:

"I'm feeling a little tired but I'm excited to learn again today."

Gary Spracklen is the head teacher. He said:

"This morning we're talking to the children about resilience, we're here, we're celebrating with pride at what the team have done.

"Resilience is the ability to cope positively and be in control when we have to respond to situations of adversity."
