Police officer threatened with a bottle

The officer was responding to a disturbance in North Dorset.

A police officer's been threatened with a bottle during an incident in North Dorset.

Police were called to reports of a group of young people causing a disturbance on a green area near Horsefields in Gillingham last Friday night. (9 October)

One of the group threatened the officer who wasn't injured.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"Officers attended and it is reported that one of the group threatened an officer with a bottle.

"No one was injured during the incident.

"A 16-year-old boy from Sherborne was arrested on suspicion of affray and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
