Police called to fight on Weymouth seafront during Euro 2020 final

Extra officers were patrolling the town

Dorset Police say most people they engaged with in Weymouth during and after the Euro 2020 final were being responsible.

There were more police officers out in the town to deal with what they anticipated to be a busy night.

During the match at around 10:23pm, the force were called to the seafront where a group of men were fighting.

Officers attended and the group had dispersed. There were no reports of any injuries and no offences identified.

In another incident one man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

Four other people were issued were issued with dispersal orders requiring them to leave the town centre.

A Spokesperson from Dorset Police told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

"We provided an additional police presence in the town and while it was a busy evening, the vast majority of those officers engaged with were acting in a responsible and social manner."
