A sparkling wine made in Dorset has beaten top Champagne brands in this years' international wine competition.

Dorset wine maker, Langham Wine Estate has won one of the most prestigious awards a wine maker can win - the International Wine & Spirit Competition Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year 2020.

The IWSC Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year is one of the largest competitions of its kind

There were 700 entries including Champagne houses and last year's prize was won by Veuve Clicquot.

Langham Wines also won Gold for Blanc de Blanc 2015 and 4 Silver medals for other Sparkling styles.

Langham Wine Estate was established in 2009 on 30 acres of farmland just outside Dorchester.

They grow the classic Champagne varieties - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and say their great success is partly down to the Jurassic coast soil!
