The Environment Agency would like to know what you think about plans for a proposed waste incinerator on Portland.

Powerfuel Portland have applied to them for an environmental permit to burn none-hazardous waste at an energy recovery facility at Portland Port.

The Environment Agency say they have a "duty to control certain activities which could harm the environment or human health."

The permit would set out the conditions Powerfuel need to meet.

How to have your say

Residents and interested parties can view the permit application, together with the supporting documents, and submit their comments at:

https://consult.environment-agency.gov.uk/psc/dt5-1pp-powerfuel-portland-limited or via email to: pscpublicresponse@environment-agency.gov.uk, please quote application number EPR/AP3304SZ/A001 in any correspondence.

The Environment Agency say they must receive your comments by 5pm on 3 September 2021. In a statement they said:

"Please note we can only consider issues covered by the environmental permit.

"We will then review all comments before making our final decision on whether or not to grant a permit."
