Firefighters have tackled two separate heath fires in Dorset.

Crews from Poole were called to Higher Blandford Road in Corfe Mullen at around 6.15pm last night, to put out a fire there.

A spokesperson for Poole Fire Station said:

"We were joined by on-call firefighters from Poole, Hamworthy Fire Station, Wimborne Fire Station and Ferndown Fire Station.

"The fire was extinguished using 1 hose reel jet and 1 jet from one of our light 4x4 appliances."

There was a further blaze at the side of the A35 near Lychett Minster around half an hour later.

A small heathland fire was put out.
