GEORGE FLOYD'S MURDER

On 25th May 2020 George Floyd was arrested by police outside a shop in Minneapolis.

It was believed that Floyd has purchased a packet of cigarettes from Cup Foods with a fake $20 bill.

One of the shop's employees reported it to the police.

Footage shows that on leaving the shop, police officer Derek Chauvin pinned Mr Floyd to the floor and knelt on his neck.

It was in place for nine minutes and 29 seconds while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down.

Video footage of the incident was shared widely, sparking Black Lives Matter protests across the world - Including Weymouth.

In April, this year, the Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter.
