Weymouth doctors surgery closed due to coronavirus

Confirmed cases at a doctors surgery in Weymouth mean the practice have shut it temporarily.

Lanehouse Surgery has been closed after confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the practice.

All close contacts have been identified and are self-isolating, it's not thought that any patients have been affected by the cases.

But, due to self-isolation and staff shortages, the surgery has been temporarily closed.

A spokesperson for the practice said:

"Please don’t attend the surgery unless you have been invited for an appointment. It is taking longer for us to answer your calls at the moment so please bear with us and keep trying, we will get to your call as soon as we can."

A spokesperson for Public Health Dorset said:

"We are aware of confirmed cases of Covid-19 within Lanehouse Surgery in Weymouth. All close contacts have been identified and are self-isolating. Please be assured no patients have been affected by these cases.

"Due to staff shortages Lanehouse Surgery is temporarily closed. Anyone with an appointment will be seen at the Wyke Regis Surgery instead.

"If anyone has any Covid-19 symptoms, do not attend the surgery, self-isolate immediately and book a test via www.gov.uk/coronavirus."

Anyone with an appointment at Lanehouse can be seen at the Wyke Regis surgery instead.
