Man arrested in connection with assault of woman in Weymouth
The incident took place in the car park at Littlemoor Shopping Centre
A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault of a woman in Weymouth.
Dorset Police say the incident happened back in May.
They force says at around 12.25pm on Monday 16 May, it was reported that a man was seen assaulting a woman who was sitting in a vehicle in the car park at Littlemoor Shopping Centre before the woman drove off from the scene.
The man and woman involved are believed to be known to each other.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:
"Following enquiries by officers, a 33-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
"He has been released on police bail as officers carry out further enquiries."
