A man's been grabbed by the throat by another motorist, in a row over a parking space in Poole.

It happened at around 12.10pm on Thursday lunchtime (14th March) after they'd arrived in the Sandbanks Ferry car park on Banks Road.

The victim's phone was also taken, as he was being held by the throat.

The phone was later recovered, and he did not sustain any serious injuries.

There's now an appeal for any witnesses to contact police.

Sergeant Chris Vaughan, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and we understand the car park was busy at the time it occurred, so I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

“I would also urge any motorists who were in the area of the car park around the relevant time and have dashcam fitted to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”

If you can help with any information, you're asked to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55240038568.

You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
