Man suffers significant facial injuries in Wimborne assault

The victim was involved in a fight in Church Street

A man's suffered significant facial injuries during a fight in Wimborne town centre, with police asking witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened in Church Street at around 10.45pm on Friday evening (20th October).

A member of the public approached officers on patrol to let them know, and it's believed the group involved were known to each other.

The victim needed hospital treatment afterwards.

PC Mia Jakeman, of East Dorset police, said:

“We are carrying out enquiries into this incident, which is believed to involve people who are known to each other.

“As part of my investigation, I am really keen to hear from anyone who was in the town centre and witnessed what happened.”
