Do you know an unsung hero? Nominations are now open for the Mayor’s Community Awards 2022.

You can nominate volunteers from your community who deserve a big shout out for the selfless work they do for others in Weymouth.

To nominate a volunteer from your community to be recognised by these awards, you need to get in touch with your local councillor by the closing date at the end of this month.

Find details of your local councillors.

The deadline for councillors to receive nominations is Saturday 30th April.

The recipients will be announced at a meeting of Weymouth Town Council’s Full Council on Wednesday 11th May, and the outgoing Mayor of Weymouth will then present the awards at the Mayor’s Community Picnic on Sunday 15th May.

Cllr Colin Huckle, Mayor of Weymouth said: “The Mayor’s Community Awards aim to recognise unsung heroes in our communities who volunteer their time to help others. If you know someone who goes the extra mile for the good of their community and deserves some recognition, please contact your local councillor to nominate them.

“It will be a great privilege to present these awards next month.”
