Paraglider rescued after crash landing at Ringstead

The major rescue operation involved all the emergency services.

A major rescue operation was launched after a paraglider crash landed near Ringstead.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called out yesterday morning. (13 September)

They helped free the paraglider who was trapped in dense undergrowth.

A spokesperson for Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"Having set up our technical rope rescue equipment a cliff technician was lowered to assist the Fire service recover the uninjured casualty in a joint operation during this multi agency response.

"Once the casualty and his equipment had been released from the undergrowth he was recovered to the top on the Fire services lines whilst we retrieved his equipment.

Luckily he was uninjured.
