Police investigate reports of an illegal fox hunt in Dorset

Hounds were reportedly seen chasing a fox across a road.

Police are investigating whether an illegal fox hunt took place in North Dorset.

It's reported a fox was chased by hounds across the B3092 between Sturminster Newton and Hinton St Mary.

The organised trail hunt is said to have happened on Tuesday. ( 3 November)

Hunting wild mammals with dogs is banned under the Hunting Act.

North Dorset Inspector Simon Perry said:

"We care carrying out enquiries in relation to this incident.

"As part of our investigation I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the relevant time and either witnessed something or captured anything of relevance on their dashcam to please contact Dorset Police."
