A Remembrance Service at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth will now go ahead.

Weymouth Town Council had cancelled the event, following the announcement of a national lockdown.

They say they've now received guidance that means Sunday's service, which is invite only, can still take place.

A council spokesperson said:

"We're delighted to be able to mark Remembrance Sunday with a service, as originally planned. The safety of those attending is our top priority, and we will ensure social distancing and government guidelines are followed throughout."

Residents are invited to get involved and mark the moment with a 2-minute silence at home, or on their doorstep.
