Series of robberies reported in Bournemouth in one night

A 41 year old man has been arrested

Police are investigating a series of robberies and attempted robberies in Bournemouth - two of them at knifepoint.

They all happened last night (Sunday 14th January).

A woman was assaulted and had her mobile phone stolen by a man, as she waited at a bus stop in Poole Road at around 8.00pm.

Two women had their watches taken by a man armed with a knife near Central Gardens an hour later (9.00pm).

A man was also threatened near Queens Road at around 9.30pm - but nothing was stolen.

A 41 year old Bournemouth man's been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Detective Sergeant Shane Grant, of Bournemouth CID, said:

“Our enquiries into these incidents remain ongoing and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who may be able to assist our investigation.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage from the areas of Poole Road and Bournemouth Gardens during the relevant time periods.”
