It's believed between 11am and 12.30pm last night, two men entered a property in the East Orchard area and stole a quantity of scrap metal from an outbuilding. The men are believed to have loaded the metal into a white van, possibly with a ‘55’ plate, and driven off toward Shaftesbury.

Police Constable Neil Hawkes, of North Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this burglary and I would ask anyone with information that might assist our investigation to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity involving a white van in the area around the time of the offence, or who has seen two men matching the descriptions given in the vicinity.”
