Spitfire flypast in Weymouth TODAY
It's part of a Battle of Britain Memorial Service at Bowleaze Cove
A remembrance service is taking place in Weymouth today, marking 83 years since the Battle of Britain, with a very special guest.
The Weymouth and Portland RAF Association is hosting the event at the Bowleaze Cove Memorial, which will feature a flypast from a Spitfire.
The Battle of Britain Memorial in Weymouth was unveiled in 2020.
The monument at Bowleaze Cove commemorates 544 of the men who paid the ultimate sacrifice on 15th September 1940.
The project had been on hold for 5 years, but was completed after a donation of land by local businessman Jon Davenport, who owns the Beachside Complex at Bowleaze Cove.
