Teenage girl sexually assaulted on Portland bus

A man's alleged to have touched her inappropriately

A 14 year old girl's been sexually assaulted while travelling on a bus on Portland.

Dorset Police tell us it happened at around 6.00pm on Wednesday (13th December) on the Number 1 First service from Wyke Regis,

A man sitting next to her is alleged to have engaged in a conversation before touching her inappropriately over her clothing.

The victim moved away from the man, and he got off in the Fortuneswell area.

A 42-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

Sergeant Dave Ash, of Weymouth and Portland police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from any passengers on the bus who may have seen what happened, or anyone else with information that might assist our investigation.

“In particular, I would like to speak to an older man who I understand was sitting close to the girl involved and may have heard the conversation that took place between her and the man.”
