A teenager's been sexually assaulted in Weymouth - with police asking witnesses to come forward.

The 18-year-old victim was walking along King Street, near the Esso petrol station, between 9.00 and 9.50pm on Wednesday 11th October.

An unknown man approached her and touched her on the shoulder, before making inappropriate comments and trying to touch her under her clothing.

The teenager managed to run away.

PC Sam Welch, of Weymouth police, said:

“We have now been able to take a full account from the victim, who has understandably been left feeling very distressed following the incident.

“The victim was unable to get a description of the man and I am therefore asking anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“I am appealing to motorists to please check their dashcam footage around the relevant time, as well as residents and businesses in the vicinity who may have captured anything of relevance on CCTV footage.”
