Three cars damaged in suspected arson in Weymouth

Three cars have been damaged by fire in Weymouth, with police treating it as an arson incident.

Fire crews dealt with a blaze in Carlton Road South at around 9.30pm on Sunday evening (22nd October).

It's believed the fire was started deliberately in one of the vehicles and then spread to two others, which were parked nearby.

A 52 year old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Detective Sergeant Claire Lloyd, of Dorset Police, said:

“Thankfully, nobody was injured during this incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to please come forward.

“Also, I would ask residents who live in the area to please check their home CCTV systems between 9pm and 10pm on Sunday 22 October 2023 for any relevant footage to assist our enquiries.”
