Police are investigating after two vehicles had their side windows smashed while driving along the A35 near Dorchester.

Details have now been released about one of the incidents that happened last Monday morning. (15 March)

At around 8.25am the victim was driving along the A35 on the single carriageway between the Townsend roundabout and the Puddletown bypass.

It is reported that the passenger side window of his car was shattered while he was driving.

The victim took his car to the garage to be repaired, where it was reported that a similar incident occurred involving another vehicle at the same location.

Police Community Support Investigator Sophie Jones, of Dorset Police, said:

"At this stage, we do not know what caused the damage and I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

"I would specifically like to speak to any motorists who have dashcam fitted to their vehicles and may have captured any relevant footage.

"Finally, I am really keen to hear from anyone else who has sustained damage to their vehicle in the same area and has not yet reported it to Dorset Police."
