Over 500 visas issued to Ukrainians in Dorset
The details have been revealed by the Home Office
The latest government figures shows that in the Dorset Council area, 521 visas have been issued so far to Ukrainian people fleeing their country.
The same data says 235 have arrived in the county as well.
People were encouraged to sign up to the Homes for Ukraine scheme, to provide rooms and accommodation to trying to escape the conflict.
A dedicated section has been created on the Dorset Council website, with advice and support for both Ukrainians coming to the county, and their host families.
It includes details of how to apply for visas, a 'Welcome Guide' for people arriving here, and information for sponsors to access Government help while they're hosting families from Ukraine.
