A Weymouth DJ of 20 years is going out with a banger as he plays tune after tune for 60-hours straight next weekend.

The target, if achieved, will see Ben Hadwin hold the seventh longest DJ set ever recorded at two and a half days according to Xceed Magazine.

He told us: “It's a daunting task but once that confidence grow and when you're doing something you really enjoy, you don't seem to get tired.”

In 2022, Ben completed his first DJ marathon of 36 hours and then the following year he upped the stakes by 12 hours, raising £4,200 for charity.

Now, he hopes to raise £5,000 for Masonic Charitable Foundation and the Life & Soul Community Trust in what will be his third and final attempt.

Ben said: “The last four hours aren’t tiring at all because that's when your adrenaline really kicks in and when the 48-hour mark hits, you’re overcome with so many emotions.

“All my friends and family were around me, showing their support and it was easily the best part of the whole event.”

Ben has played at the best bars and clubs in Weymouth for the last 20 years and hold residencies across the southwest.

“I've been lucky enough to do my hobby for 20 years and enjoy every single time,” he said. “I'm a great believer that music can help so much when you’re feeling low, a certain song can come on and it can lift your spirits.

“The biggest thing DJing has given me is confidence. My confidence has grown so much compared to when I first started.”
