Weymouth hotel room burgled

Cash was stolen in the incident

A quantity of cash has been stolen from a handbag after thieves broke into a room at a Weymouth hotel.

A room at the Russell Hotel on The Esplanade was burgled at some point between 6.30 and 7.45pm on Tuesday 17th May.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area is now asked to contact Dorset Police.

PC Charlie Andrews, of Weymouth police, said:

“We have carried out a number of enquiries into this incident so far, including checking internal CCTV and speaking to people at the hotel.

“I am now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity outside or in the vicinity of the hotel around the relevant time period to please get in touch.”
