An unusual 'road related' incident near Bere Regis is being investigated by police - with a woman arrested.

A Hyundai Tucson car came to a stop on the A31 east of Bere Regis, between 7.30 and 8.00pm on Saturday evening (20th January).

A man's believed to have stopped their car to assist the female driver, and gave her a lift to the World's End pub at Almer nearby.

Police attended there, and a 28 year old woman from Ferndown was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

She's since been released on bail.

Officers are now looking for information into what happened, and especially want to speak to the man who took to her to the pub.

PC Ramsay Inkster, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are continuing to make enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I am keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the man who gave the woman a lift to The World’s End pub so we can get his account of what happened. I would like to stress that we are treating this individual purely as a witness who can help our enquiries.”
