Police have now charged a woman in connection with a hit and run in Weymouth, where a 12-year-old boy was seriously injured.

It was reported that at around 2.45pm on Tuesday 4 July last year (2023) a 12-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a car in Chickerell Road. It was alleged that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The boy sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said:

"Following enquiries by officers from the Roads Policing Team, a 39-year-old woman from Weymouth attended for a voluntary police interview. She has now been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 27 February for offences of failing to stop after a road accident and failing to report an accident."
