Woman seriously injured after being hit by car in Poole

The accident happened just before midday yesterday

A woman in her 70's has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Poole.

The collision happened at around 11.50am yesterday (Tuesday 20 February) on Lower Blandford Road in Broadstone involving the pedestrian and a silver Honda Jazz.

A woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are believed to be serious.

Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to attend the incident.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of this collision and am keen to speak to any witnesses of the incident or manner of driving of the vehicle involved in the moments before it happened.

“Also, if you were driving in the area and have a dashcam fitted that has captured relevant footage, please contact Dorset Police.”
