A woman's been threatened with a samurai sword during an aggravated burglary in Beaminster.

It's reported that three men knocked on the door of a house in Flaxfield Road at around 9.30pm last Sunday (29th May), with one of them forcing her way into the property when the female occupant opened the door.

CCTV pictures of three men have been released - Police admit they're not the clearest

That man searched the address and threatened the woman, before leaving with the other men.

CCTV images have been released of some men that could help with enquiries, and a vehicle thought to have been involved.

This vehicle is thought to have been involved in the incident

Sergeant Rich Barnett, of Dorset CID, said:

“We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this matter and we have obtained CCTV images of a vehicle we believe may be linked to this offence.

“We have also obtained some CCTV of three men reportedly seen leaving the address, one of whom is wearing distinctive grey and black camouflage trousers. I fully appreciate the images are not of the best quality, but I am hoping they may help jog someone’s memory if they either saw these men or the vehicle in the vicinity.

“I would also urge any residents in the areas of Woodswater Lane, East Street and Whitcombe Road with home CCTV or doorbell cameras to please check their footage between 9.20pm and 9.40pm on Sunday 29 May 2022 and would make the same requests to any motorists with dashcam footage who were in the vicinity.”

A 35-year-old man from Charmouth was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and he has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
