BTP appeal after children racially abused on Carlisle to Dumfries train

There is an appeal from British Transport Police after three children were racially abused on a train between Carlisle and Dumfries.

It happened on Saturday 14 October 2023 at around 5.30pm.

Three children, aged between 10 and 15, were racially abused by four white men, all believed to be in their sixties.

The first is described as being about 5ft8 tall, with fair hair and a pink top.

The second had white hair and was wearing a red t-shirt and a blue jacket.

The third had white hair, a white moustache, and was wearing a white t-shirt and a light green jacket.

The fourth had white hair, and was wearing glasses, a flat cap, a blue jumper and a blue jacket.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who can provide information to help the investigation is urged to contact British Transport Police by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016 with reference 700 of 14/10/2023.
