A “large bulldog type dog” has been put-down after a woman was attack on Saturday evening.

She was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she was treated for serious injuries.

The incident happened at around 6.25pm on Saturday April 27, on McConnel Street in Kelloholm.

Police said: “Officers would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding as enquiries were carried out in the area.”
