Hillwalker with broken leg recovering in hospital
Moffat Mountain Rescue Team picked up the casualty at around 1pm on Sunday

A hillwalker is recovering in hospital with a broken leg after being rescued by Moffat Mountain Rescue Team yesterday.
Rescuers were called to the Brattleburn Bothy area just before 1pm on Sunday to assist a walker who was in difficulty.
The team were already in the area for training, so the response to the call was fast, and 13 members were able to travel to assist.
A splint was applied to the injury on the hill before the walker was packaged into a casualty bag and onto a stretcher. They were then evacuated to the team’s transporter before being taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The charity is wishing the casualty all the best in their recovery.
The team is made up entirely of volunteers and to raise funds they will be holding a Charity Challenge on June 11.
This year’s challenge will offer four walks around the Moffat Hills, each of which was chosen by a team member.
The walks will vary so people of all abilities can take part, however since each will cross farmland, dogs will not be able to participate this year.
