More than nine months on from the vicious murder of Jill Barclay, her friends and family are asking for help to buy and demolish the property her body was found at.

The Farburn Gatehouse has been lying vacant for a number of years, it's now blocked off with fences covered in green mesh.

Flowers and tributes remain at the property

A 'haunting' sight

The building is located at the roundabout between Stoneywood Road and Victoria Street, a busy thoroughfare north of Aberdeen.

"This house is on the main drag out of Dyce, every time you go past it it's haunting, it's awful, it has to go", said a friend of Jill's.

She continued: "We can never get rid of a bit of land but we can change the landscape and that's what we have to do."

"That's what the banner's about, that's what the GoFundMe is about, that's what the friends, family and the rest of Dyce want.

"Nobody wants to drive past it, some people will go opposite ways so they don't have to go past it, they'll go the long way round."

Raising funds

The land was bought at auction on the fifth of September, just 12 days before Jill's murder.

It'll take £90,000 to purchase it and demolish it, according to the GoFundMe page.

The banner that's been put up includes a QR code for people to access the fundraising page, and is hung up on the side wall of the house.

"There is not one person in Dyce that I have spoken to that does not want this building gone.

The rundown property will cost nearly £90,000 to buy

"We need more traction, we need more money and we need more help".

The GoFundMe page has passed £20,000, you can donate here.
