"Can't park there mate" Mystery of how car ended up on pillar in Annan

The black Honda Civic had earlier been stolen from an address in the town

Police in Annan are trying to solve the mystery of how a stolen car ended up on top of a pillar at a roundabout in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to a report of the black Honda Civic precariously balanced on the Scott’s Street roundabout at around 5.10am.

It has since been recovered.

It has now been established that the vehicle was stolen from an address in the town.

Sergeant Brian Dickson, of Annan Police Office, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“Anyone with any information about this theft or the vehicle being left on the roundabout is urged to contact police.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage which may show the car being transported or abandoned.”
