Police have now launched an investigation after a house in Dumfries was broken into on Saturday night.

CCTV footage shows a black BMW car parking near the house at 6.15pm and two people leave the car and enter the house.

The vehicle left heading towards Dumfries Town Centre.

Officers have reason to believe this incident is connected with the same people breaking into another property on Birchwood Way the same day.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time who may have seen the car or the occupants to get in touch. I would also ask people who have dash cam or doorbell recording equipment to check the footage. It could have captured an image of this car which could prove significant in helping us trace whoever is responsible for these break-ins.” says Detective Sergent Kirsty Beckett.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101.
