Police in Derby have discovered four cannabis farms with a combined street value of £1 million.

Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary were notified of a potential grow at a residence on London Road on Monday (January 31st).

When officers arrived, over 400 plants were found at the property. Leads that police followed brought the force to three other residences at St Helen’s Street, Leopold Street and St Chad's Road.

In total, once the raids were completed, 1,800 plants were found during raids across the city over the past two days.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the cannabis farms and currently remain in police custody.

As well as this, all four properties are being guarded by police while further investigations into how the grows could be hidden take place.

Police are appealing for anyone who lives or works in the local areas with relevant information about the grows to come forward by getting in touch at their local station.
