Man charged in relation to Alvaston disturbance

A man has been charged in connection with a dispute in an Alvaston Street.

Officers were called to the Airedale Walk area just after 12 noon on Wednesday 13 March following reports of an altercation between a small group of men.

During the incident, one of the group was assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and has subsequently been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Jacob Jones, 25, of Boulton Moor, Derby, has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court today.

There was a significant police presence in the area around the time of the incident, and patrols are continuing.
