The second film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - might not even be out yet, BUT there has already been much excitement about the third film in the series. Now, it's been confirmed that a major character will be returning for the third installment.

Speaking to Collider, Johnny Depp, who plays Gellert Grindelwald, revealed that the new film will start filming in, "the middle of next year". He went on to explain, "The possibilities in that world are wide open, so you can really try anything. So it was a gas and I look forward to the next installment."

The Hollywood actor also revealed how he got involved with the films, telling Collider, "It was amazing. It came out of nowhere. Someone said J.K. Rowling would like to talk to me. I spoke to a few producers and the director and to J.K. and had long conversations basically about the Grindelwald character."

He went on to reveal, "J.K. said something I did not expect to hear because obviously her detail to her characters and those wizarding worlds is astonishing. The fact that she said, 'I can’t wait to see what you do with the character.' Just to hand it off to me with that degree of trust, I was really touched, blown away by that."

This exciting news comes just a month away from the cinema release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the follow-up to the 2016 film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

In the latest trailer for the new film, due out on the 16th November, some of the amazing effects are shown, as the viewers are transported into the magical world.

It was back in November last year that the name for the Fantastic Beasts sequel was revealed to be Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The announcement was made across social media which also featured a short video to promote the new film.

2013's The Immigrant is sadly still waiting for a UK release, so praise be to the cinematic gods that James Gray's The Lost City Of Z arrived without delay. Based on the true-life tale of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), this dense but always gripping biopic is part political drama, part family drama and part adventure.
On discovering the remnants of an indigenous society, Fawcett spent his life trying to prove his Amazonian finds until his unexplained disappearance in 1925. Containing one of the most beautiful scenes of the year, this undseen gem deserves, nay, demands your attention.

Whilst, we're still mega excited about the new film due out next month, earlier this year J.K. Rowling shared a video of herself and actress Jessica Williams on Instagram. The pair decided to reveal the name of the new character to be played by Jessica as 'Professor Lally Hicks'.

Professor Lally Hicks will be introduced in the second film, however she will play a larger part in the third film when it arrives. A release date for Fantastic Beasts 3 has yet to be confirmed, however, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be in cinemas on the 16th November 2018.
