Police name woman who was murdered in Beverley

Officers discovered the woman's body in the early hours of Monday morning

It's been confirmed Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder of a woman in Beverley.

The body of Becci Rees-Hughes was discovered at a house on Samman Road in the early hours of Monday morning.

A car believed to have left the address was spotted by police on the B1230 between Seaton and Hornsea and following a pursuit the vehicle was involved in a crash with a Ford transit van.

The car driver died at the scene.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Alan Curtis said:

“Our thoughts are with Becci’s family at this very difficult time.

“Whilst our investigations are continuing into Becci’s murder, at this time, we do not believe we are looking for anyone else in connection with her death.

“A Post-Mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death in the coming days.

Becci’s family have asked for privacy at this time as they try to come to terms with their loved one’s death.
