A woman's been seriously assaulted in Goole.
It was reported to have happened in the early hours of yesterday morning in the Swinefleet Road area.
Police are searching for evidence, whilst the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
Here's Humberside police's statement in full:
“In the early hours of Sunday 6th February, a woman was assaulted in the Swinefleet Road area of Goole.
She is being supported by specially trained officers and our partners.
Officers are currently examining the area for evidence.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward, quoting log 68 of 6 February, by calling our non-emergency line, 101.
“While incidents of this nature are extremely rare, we’d like to reassure the community that violence against women and girls will not be tolerated in Humberside.
We will do everything in our power to bring perpetrators to justice.”
