Gogglebox star George Gilbey has died aged 40
His friends and fans have been paying tribute

Tributes have been pouring in for Gogglebox star and Celebrity Big Brother finalist George Gilbey after the sad news that he has died aged 40.
Viewers loved watching George on the Channel 4 show when he joined in the second series in 2013 alongside his mum Linda and step-father Pete (who sadly passed away in 2021).
George also joined Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 and made it all the way to the final. One of his co-stars of CBB, Ricci Guarnaccio paid tribute on Twitter: 'Breaks my 💔 but @georgegilbey you are well and truly going to be missed my friend. Always lit up the room, cared for others & the memories we made I’ll cherish for ever brother. From CBB to speaking to you last week, I’m going to hugely miss you ma boiii!'
A spokesperson for Gogglebox has also paid tribute to George on Instagram: 'George was part of the Gogglebox family for eight series alongside his mum Linda and step-dad Pete.
'Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Linda, and George's family and friends at this very sad time. The family have asked for privacy.'
Essex Police released a statement on Wednesday 27th March, which read: "We received a report of an incident at Campfield Road in Shoebury at around 10am this morning (27 March), during which a man who was working at height had fallen and sustained an injury. The ambulance service including air ambulance were in attendance. Sadly, the man died at the scene. We will continue liaising with partners including the Heath and Safety Executive. A cordon remains in place at the scene."

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions full-back JPR Williams sadly died at the age of 74 in January. It's understood he passed away in hospital surrounded by his family after short illness battling bacterial meningitis.

Designated Survivor and X-Men actor Adan Canto sadly passed away in January at the age of 42, following a battle with cancer. In a statement, his publicist Jennifer Allen said: "Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. He will be greatly missed by so many."
Georgina Hale
Bafta-winning actress Georgina Hale, best known for her role in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, sadly died at the age of 80 in January. Tributes poured in for the popular actress, who also appeared in Doctor Who, Budgie, One Foot in The Grave, Minder, The Bill and A Rather English Marriage.
Annie Nightingale CBE
Annie Nightingale, trailblazing presenter and DJ, sadly died at the age of 83 in January, following a short illness. Her family confirmed the news in a statement, where they described her a "pioneer, trailblazer and an inspiration to many."
Lynne Marta
Footloose, Joe Kidd and Starsky & Hutch actress Lynne Marta sadly passed away at the age of 78 in January, following a short battle with cancer. Marta's friend Chris Saint-Hilaire confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter.
Martin McCallum
British theatre director Martin McCallum, best known for shows such as Cats and Les Miserables, sadly passed away at the age of 73 in January, peacefully and surrounded by his beloved family.
Frank Farian
The founder of 'Daddy Cool' band Boney M, Frank Farian sadly passed away at the age of 82 in January. The German music producer, who founded the band back in 1974, died peacefully in his Miami apartment according to his representatives.

Gogglebox star Pat Webb sadly died at the age of 75 in January following a long illness. Her son Stephen who she appeared alongside between series 10-12, announced the news on social media, with Gogglebox bosses also paying tribute to her online.
