Olivia Newton-John has opened up about living with cancer, which she is battling for the third time. The Grease star admitted that she doesn't know how much longer she has to live, speaking on 60 Minutes Australia.

The actress, who now has stage four cancer, admitted, "When you're given a cancer diagnosis or a scary illness diagnosis, you are suddenly given a possibility of a time limit.

"If you believe the statistics, you're going to make them happen. If somebody tells you, 'you have six months to live', very possibly you will - because you believe that."

Olivia then revealed that she didn't want doctors to tell her how long she has left, as she felt it was better for her mental health.

The singer, has been raising money for research into the disease by selling some of her iconic possessions such as her Sandy leather jacket and trousers from the 70s film Grease.

The Greatest Showman actor Hugh Jackman recently paid tribute to Olivia in a video filmed at his The Man, The Music, The Show in Australia. Whilst on stage he told the camera, "Hi Olivia, it's Hugh, with 15,000 of your closest friends and family."

Asking the audience if they watched 60 Minutes, he said, "Listen, you are the most amazing person, the most amazing mum, the most amazing ambassador, singer and dancer."

The 70-year-old actress had her first battle with cancer in the 90s, and became an advocate for breast cancer screenings in Australia, setting up a cancer centre called the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Research Centre.

Then, in 2017 Olivia was forced to postpone her US tour following a cancer diagnosis. A statement on Facebook revealed she had found that her severe back pain was due to the disease spreading.

We're sending our love to Olivia and her family.
