Elizabeth Hurley recounts the first time she met Liam Gallagher saying he was 'absolutely adorable'
She joined Ken Bruce for Golden Years
Elizabeth Hurley joined Ken Bruce for Golden Years on Greatest Hits Radio, where she chose 1994 as her Golden Year. Elizabeth chose that particular year after she'd heard a Wet Wet Wet song on the radio, which "sent her back to a place", and she realised she loved a lot of songs from that year.
The actress went on to explain that a lot in her life changed in that year, and it was a time that "evoked amazing feelings".
1994 was also the year that Oasis released their debut album 'Definitely Maybe', now announced for a 30th anniversary edition, and Elizabeth recounted the first time she met Liam Gallagher, who was going out with her good friend Patsy Kensit at the time.
"I love the song," Elizabeth said, talking about her choice of Oasis' song 'Live Forever': "I loved Oasis, for me they also were just so much a part of that time, and one of my best, oldest friends, Patsy Kensit, was married to Liam at the time.
"So we saw a lot of them and it was amazing because, you know, Patty is very old friend of mine and she's like a sister. When I was about to meet Liam for the first time, I didn't really know what to expect, I thought he was this insane, wild... you know Manchester man and he was absolutely adorable. They used to come to my, (then) my mum and dad's little cottage in the country, and Liam would help with the washing up and he was just adorable."
Elizabeth continued to reminisce about 1994, saying: "They (Liam and Patsy) were adorable, and so that made me love Oasis even more and I remember I used to go backstage on some of their gigs.
"Again, thinking they could be wild and what's going on and they'll be sitting there doing the crossword! And, you know, in cardis and stuff and they were just heaven."
During the chat with Ken, Elizabeth also opened up about spending time with Elton John, after she chose his 1994 hit 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?'.
"When I got married, which was much later that 1994, it was 2007, he played at my wedding," she explained. "And that was the song, the me and my then-husband (Arun Nayar), who is still one of my best friends, had our first dance to, so it's a very special song for me, and I love Elton singing this song.
"And actually, Elton is as you see Elton, he's an amazing perfectionist. My favourite story about Elton is that, he will freely admit this himself, if you go round to his house for dinner, you'll sit and have a drink and then you'll go through... he'll always nip off because he has to go and tidy the cushions, tidy and plump cushions, before he can sit down, because he's a perfectionist, he loves everything to be beautiful."
